How we source what we publish

We are not veterinarians. Nobody on this site holds a veterinary qualification, and we do not employ a vet to review our content. We think you should know that up front, because plenty of sites in this space imply clinical authority they do not have.

What we do instead is narrower and, we think, more honest: we report what veterinary institutions say, and we link to them so you can check.

The rules we hold ourselves to

Our sources

We rely on the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, VCA Animal Hospitals, university veterinary teaching hospitals, Veterinary Partner (VIN), and peer-reviewed veterinary literature. Where a claim cannot be traced to one of those, we do not publish it.

Corrections

If you find something inaccurate — particularly if you are a veterinary professional — please tell us. We will correct it and note the change. We would rather be corrected than be wrong in public.
